About Us
The Herndon Optimists are men and women who want to help develop optimism as a philosophy of life; to promote an active interest in good government and civic affairs; to inspire respect for law; to promote patriotism and work for international accord and friendship among all people; and to aid and encourage the development of youth in the belief that giving of one's self in service to others will advance the well being of man, his community and world.

The Optimist Club of Herndon is an organization that is 39 years old with a current membership of around 70. Those members, along with approximately 800 non-member volunteers, serve 3,700 youth each year in 85 different program areas. Long known as the sponsor/organizer/manager of youth sports programs, the Herndon Optimists have been expanding into other youth activities.
